Voices and Vision

By John Starkey, Host of “Voices and Vision”

On “Voices and Vision” at 6 pm Tuesday, Jan. 12, KOWS 107.3 FM, I will be talking with David Swanson, about his exciting new book, Daybreak, and his appearance in Santa Rosa Wednesday, described below. At about 7pm I’ll be joined by KOWS’ favorite singer-songwriter, Teresa Tudury to discuss her life in music and her hot new CD, “Such Fine Things.” Teresa is West County’s witty, articulate host of “Live form the Doublewide,” Tuesdays at 8 pm on KOWS. Teresa usually spotlights her many musician friends, and does her own bright form of commentary and interview. Now it’s her turn.

Tune in for a stimulating and entertaining two hours. You’re invited to participate in the program by calling during the show: (707) 874-1073.
Voices and Vision can be heard on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, 6-8 pm. KOWS 107.3 FM , Occidental, is a community station serving west Sonoma County and much of Santa Rosa. It can also be heard by going to www.KOWS.fm and clicking on the link under community radio project.

HOW THE BUSH YEARS FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGED US GOVERNMENT AND WHAT AMERICA MUST DO TO RECONSTITUTE DEMOCRACY

Daybreak is a prescription for political reform that literally ends with a to-do list for citizens, and draws inspiration from the misdeeds and missteps of the Bush and Obama presidencies. This is a citizens’ guide to the long-term task of removing power from the hands of one person, placing it in a body of representatives, and (here’s the hard part) making that body truly representative of the American people.

Swanson was press secretary for Dennis Kucinich’s 2004 presidential campaign. He is co-founder of AfterDowningStreet.org, creator of ConvictBushCheney.org and Washington Director of Democrats.com, a board member of Progressive Democrats of America , the Backbone Campaign, and Voters for Peace.
