So, I asked Congressman Jerrold Nadler yesterday if he would vote against $33 billion to escalate the war in Afghanistan. He said yes, absolutely. Then he said Wait! Unless they put a whole bunch of stuff in it that I can’t vote against. So, I said that Haiti aid could pass separately, and he said “I’m not worried about Haiti aid.” So, I asked what he was worried about, and he said just anything good, if they put too much good stuff in there he’ll vote to kill more people. What courage. What principle. I asked him if he wanted to be effective. He said he was just trying to be completely honest with me. Next time, please don’t. I can’t take any more honesty from congress members. And Afghanistan can’t take any more liberating.
