I recently blogged on the conclusive evidence that Dick Cheney has committed felonies. In response bewildered Americans asked why he wasn’t being prosecuted or investigated.
But the reasons are public knowledge: Obama is continuing the crimes. Obama controls the Department of Justice. Obama controls the Congress.
If I had been paying attention, I would have noted that the day before I posted that blog Obama’s press secretary committed one of the crimes of which I was accusing Cheney.
An article of impeachment introduced in 2007 against Cheney read in part:
“Cheney has openly threatened aggression against the Republic of Iran absent any real threat to the United States, and done so with the United States proven capability to carry out such threats, thus undermining the national security of the United States.”
H Res 333 went on to note that under Article VI of the U.S. Constitution, the U.N. Charter and all other treaties to which we are party are the supreme law of the land, and that the U.N. Charter forbids threatening the use of force.
The following is from a Feb. 16, 2010, White House Briefing by Robert Gibbs:
Q And on Iran, you said there will be consequences. Do you rule out military consequences?
MR. GIBBS: I wouldn’t rule out anything.
This is a public threat to engage in aggressive war if certain determinations are made that in no way could possibly legalize either that aggressive war or this threat of it.
