The County Board of Supervisors voted at its
July 5 meeting to advertise for a public hearing
at its Aug. 1 meeting a proposal for a
county-wide leash law. In the meantime, several
specific areas in the county have leash laws, and
on July 5 the Board added one more.
By a 5-2 vote, with Steve Walker (I,
East-Fairfax) and Bill Chase (D, Stevensburg)
dissenting, the supervisors approved a leash law
for an area including Mountain Run Lane,
Woodland Court and Lake Front Court off Route
719 near Mountain Run Lake. Twenty-two people
had signed a petition requesting the law.
