Rappahannock River in Danger

This is the fourth in a series of five articles on the
Rappahannock River.
Some local residents concerned with the future of the
Rappahannock River are taking an interest in a public
hearing set for next Wednesday on a wastewater treatment
plant the county has proposed that would discharge into the
river.

Culpeper County applied to the State Department of
Environmental Quality on April 16, 1999, for a Virginia
Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit for a
proposed plant to be located on Mountain Run off Greens
Corner Road, two miles down the run (or one mile as the
crow flies) from the Town of Culpeper
